Equipping hearts to serve

Church communities are often the first place people turn when they are facing emotional pain, relational struggles, grief, trauma, or spiritual questions. While pastors and ministry leaders carry a deep desire to help, many recognise the growing need for practical skills and understanding when supporting those who are hurting.

Our courses help equip believers with the knowledge, wisdom, and practical tools needed to walk alongside others with compassion and integrity. Rooted in biblical principles and informed by psychological insight, this training prepares lay counsellors to offer supportive, ethical, and Christ-centred care within the life of the church.

Through a combination of teaching, reflection, and practical guidance, participants learn how to listen deeply, respond wisely, and create safe spaces where healing and hope can begin to unfold.

What We offer

Lay Counselling Training for Church Counsellors

We offer Christ-centred lay counselling training designed to equip ordinary people to walk alongside others in moments of real need—with wisdom, compassion, and confidence.

This training is not about becoming an expert overnight. It is about becoming available, grounded, and equipped—someone who can hold space well, listen deeply, and reflect the heart of God in practical ways.

A Foundation That is Both Biblical & Practical

Our courses are rooted in Scripture while also integrating proven psychological principles. This allows lay counsellors to understand both the spiritual and emotional dimensions of people’s struggles.

You will learn how to:
 • Offer support that is both truth-filled and compassionate
 • Understand emotional pain through a biblical lens
 • Walk with others without trying to “fix” or rush the process

Just as the Hebrew word lev (heart) speaks of the inner life—mind, will, and emotions—this training helps you engage the whole person, not just the surface.

Skills That Build Confidence

We focus on practical, usable skills that you can apply immediately in real-life conversations.

You will be equipped to:
 • Listen with intention and reflect accurately
 • Ask meaningful, guiding questions
 • Create a safe and contained space for others
 • Understand boundaries, ethics, and your role as a lay counsellor

This is about becoming a steady presence—someone who does not panic in the presence of pain.

A Safe & Supportive Learning Journey

You will not walk this journey alone. Our training creates a space where you can:

 • Learn through real-life case studies
 • Practice in a safe, guided environment
 • Grow in both confidence and self-awareness

In Hebrew, the word chazak means “to strengthen” or “to make firm.” That is the heart behind this training—to strengthen you so that you can strengthen others.
